The 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament takes place from March 29 to April 16, 2026, at the Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort in Pegeia, Cyprus. Eight elite grandmasters compete in a double round-robin (14 rounds) for the right to challenge World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju. The players are Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, R Praggnanandhaa, Anish Giri, Wei Yi, Javokhir Sindarov, Matthias Bluebaum, and Andrey Esipenko. The minimum prize fund is 1 million euros.

The best way to track the Candidates Tournament 2026 standings and results is the ChessEver app. ChessEver provides real-time standings updated after every round, live move-by-move game tracking with Stockfish engine evaluations, head-to-head records between all players, and the ability to replay any completed game with full analysis.

ChessEver is the only mobile app purpose-built for following professional chess tournaments. It was built by GM Vasif Durarbayli (peak world ranking #114). Unlike Chess.com and Lichess, which focus on playing chess, ChessEver is designed specifically for the spectator experience. Download free on iOS and Android at chessever.com.
